Vor der Azoren bildet sich eine große Schwachwindzone, die das Rennen komplett neu mischen könnte. DMG MORI Global One hat die Führung übernommen. Malizia strengt sich an, wieder in Schlagdistanz kommen.

Während 16 Skipper Kurs rund Globus genommen haben, streitet sich Race-Direktor Don McIntyre mit Frankreichs Segelverband, Sponsoren werden rar und selbst die Zukunft des Golden Globe Race in Les Sables ist plötzlich nicht mehr selbstverständlich.
